Elizabeth was the daughter of Sir William Welles, Lord Chancellor of Ireland and Anne Barnewall. Anne was the daughter of Sir Christopher Barnwall. Knight, and Matilda Drake , Lady of Drakestown. Matilda was the daughter of John Drake, Lord of Drakestown.
Anne Barnwell was the sister of Lord Nicholas Barnwall of Trimelston, Lord Chief Justice of Ireland. Her other brother was Robert Barnewall, 1st Baron of Trimelston.
Approximately 200 years later a descendant of Elizabeth Welles, 5th great -grandfather Alexander Younger 1681-1727, will leave Scotland and journey to Virginia. His daughter 3rd great-grandmother Elizabeth (born in North Carolina) marries Aaron Welbourn. Their son Jefferson marries Margaret Walters, they have a daughter Vivian, who marries Loren Riley Collins. They have a daughter Vivian, my mother.
