John Collins 1569 Wife Margaret Weeks
In 1631 Charles I granted John Collins ” Keeper of The Gaul” Maidstone .
This was a Titled office and it came with the prison and all it contained along with the prisoners. He was also granted a home and many acres of land. I have yet to discover why he was chosen.
